The rapper and Obama supporter has had his share of controversies. In 2002 Fox News host Bill O'Reilly launched a boycott of Pepsi products because the soft drink giant had hired Ludacris.

O'Reilly characterized Ludacris's lyrics as glamorizing a "life Dre Headphones of guns, violence, drugs and disrespect of women." Pepsi subsequently terminated the company's arrangement with Ludacris.

The president recognized Ludacris's music during one of his recent speeches. When a cell phone rang with a hip-hop Earphones for Sale ring tone, the president remarked, "Woah. Got some Luda on there?"
